The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem out of place, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—used the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could assist the group enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.
